Regrets for your loss. We have been dogless now for 4 years after our pups went. They are loyal friends. They always love you even when you're grumpy. Can't say that about people.
She rests in the arms of the angels now. I hope, if you have room left in your heart and home, that you'll save a life by rescuing a new "baby" from the pound.
Thank you everyone. She went very peacefully in my arms with the assistance of the vet and his staff. Belle and I are going to spend the weekend with some friends.
Sometimes the last act of love that you can give to your pet is to be there when they take their final breath. I had to put down my beloved husky in February of this year. I have also chosen to be with my yorkie and my bichon when they died. I have found that it is a great comfort to know that they do not suffer when they pass. It takes great courage to be WITH them at the end. I do hope that you realize that sometimes letting go is truly an act of love and compassion for your pet.
