Interesting responses. You've been to Haiti? Not the typical Caribbean tourist destination. And I think chocolate should be called a staple from now on. It's on every list I've read so far.
Your question stumped me. I couldn't think of anyone I'd like to have dinner with who isn't family or friend, but there are a few men I'd consider for dinner and dessert:

Hi, I've been tagged with a couple of these emails lately.
I've had to end a few friendships in the past year due to lack of interest. I was doing all the work. So I stopped calling, and these couple of people never called again. Felt like shit at first, but now I feel much better. I'd rather have people in my life who are worth it. ;-)

I was in Haiti twice for a month each time on work study tours in 76 and 78. It was very different back then. Baby Doc was still in power. Chocolate should be a staple.

How was The Audacity of Hope? It's on my list but I haven't gotten to it yet.
I got tagged by this one back on my first blog - though it was four places you've been rather than countries... good thing for me as I've never been out of the states - yes, I'm deprived.
Now, are those four people of any time or do they have to be alive currently?

If one could pick writers one would like to have dinner with, I was surprised to find my mental picks would be mostly fantasy or SF!
wow, oprah and bill gates? Hmm, interesting. It would be fun to have them over just to be rude to them, and then they'd have to be polite back cuz it was my house and my party and they wouldn't get desert if they left early. And trust me, they'd want my desert!

I'm fascinated with people who are powerful and influential. I always wonder what they would be like just one on one or in a very small group. We have ideas based on what we see on TV or read in the media, but I want to reach my own conclusions based on personal experience. I want to know who they are outside the limelight.
